Parks & Urban Forestry

Due to COVID-19

All playground equipment and Bathrooms at all parks in the City of Verona are closed. Please do not use the equipment until further notice.  They will be open to the public when we reach phase 2 of the Forward Dane Plan from the Dane County Health Department.  The soonest that would be if the metrics are hit would be June 9th.  This is to preserve the health of our community.  The parks will remain open, but we ask that visitors maintain 6 feet social distancing.  You can view the Forward Dane Plan here:

Veterans Park
The City of Verona has 25 parks encompassing over 130 acres with a wide range of facilities for residents to enjoy year round.  The goal of the Parks Department is to continually maintain and improve this growing park system so that it remains a valuable asset to the community.

The Urban Forestry Program is an offshoot of the Parks Department that is charged with the maintenance and care of over 3,000 publicly owned trees along City streets and within parks and public spaces.

Both of these Departments are staffed by a Director, three full-time employees, seven summer LTE employees and dozens of community volunteers.  Oversight and direction of the Departments is provided by the five member Park, Recreation, and Forestry Commission.

Thank you to those who have donated to our parks and memorials!
